On a hot day, or on any day, there is nothing as refreshing as a glass of chilled lemonade. It is really easy to prepare, and inexpensive to make.
Steps
Method 1
- 1Cut up lemons, and squeeze until juice is gone. Use about three or four for a nice, sweet lemonade.
- 2Make sugar-water by boiling water with an equal amount of sugar. Don't allow it to cool before adding the lemons!
- Omit the sugar-water, and just use plain water, if you want to make unsweetened lemonade.
- 3Figure that for every four cups of water (950 mL), the juice from two whole lemons should be added. It should be nice and sweet, with no tartness from the lemon.
- 4Add ice cubes, pour into a glass, and enjoy!
Method 2
- 1Gather 5 lemons, three cups of sugar (600 grams), and 1 3/4 quarts water (1.7 L) and ice.
- 2Squeeze the juice from the lemons; reserve the peels.
- 3Remove the seeds and pour the juice into a 2 quart pitcher.
- 4Add the sugar and water. Stir to dissolve the sugar.
- 5Slice the peels from all 5 lemons and put them into the pitcher. Serve with ice.
- 6Add a pinch of cinnamon for a nice, sweet lemonade.
